Preparation is key! You need a solid foundation!
A base coat is where it all begins. Set the stage for a million dollar mani by coating your nails in Base Coat first. The formula adheres to your nail, so you’re insured against chips, cracks and peeling.
About Kester Black’s 10-Free™ brand: Kester Black strips out a lot of bad stuff. While no nail polish can ever be fully free of chemicals, Kester Black 10-Free™ formula does not contain formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, camphor, formaldehyde resin, xylene, parabens, fragrances, phthalates and animal derived or tested ingredients. Kester Black has also never used ingredients like ethyl tosylamide, triphenyl phosphate or xylene.
All Kester Black products are cruelty free, vegan and made in Australia. Kester Black is also a Certified B Corp!
For best results, gently clean each nail with Nail Polish Cleanser to eliminate any oily residue prior to painting.
To achieve a perfect manicure, apply a thin layer of Base Coat to the nail and allow to dry. Follow with your favourite Kester Black polish, and seal with Kester Black Top Coat.

What does 10-Free mean?
10 Free polish does not contain formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, camphor, formaldehyde resin, xylene, parabens, fragrances, phthalates, or ingredients derived from animals.
Where to store Kester Black Nail Polish?
Nail polish should always be stored in a cool dark place.
Shelf life of Kester Black Nail Polish?
Kester Black nail polish has an unlimited shelf life. If colours separate when not in use, simply shake the bottle well to re-mix. If your nail polish dried out or becomes gluggy, you can purchase a nail polish thinner, which will bring your colour back to its former glory. Do not add nail polish remover as this actually eats away at the nail polish, causing it to chip easily.
Is Kester Black nail polish Organic/Natural?
Kester Black polish is not certified organic but a large % of the formulation is derived from natural sources. Around 80% of the ingredients in Kester Black polishes are plant derived.
How to save gluggy nail polish?
You must use nail polish thinner to restore your nail polish back to new. A few drops will do. Don't use nail polish remover to thin your polish as it will ruin it a month or so later.
Difference between water permeable and breathable nail polish?
No difference between breathable nail polish and water permeable nail polish. Essentially, if a nail polish is breathable, that means it also has the ability for water molecules to penetrate through its formula. All Kester Black colours that are stamped with the Water Permeable logo have been tested and proved to be water permeable.
Is water permeable nail polish water soluble?
No. Kester Black water permeable nail polishes are not able to be dissolved by/in water.
